Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur

The Writer’s Portrait Series – A Revisit Showcase

In conjunction with Gallery Weekend Kuala Lumpur 2017, HOM Art Trans will be exhibiting artworks from Malaysian international artist, Yee I-Lan with an exhibition entitled The Writer’s Portrait Series – A Revisit Showcase. This exhibition is a revisit from her 2004 Writer’s Portrait Series and taken from Yee I-Lan’s artist statement, this series tries to draw an image reflecting a part of her environment that has influenced her; a small collective communal portrait made up of a selection of Malaysian Muslim male writers.

GWKL is a novel, annual 3-day celebration of aesthetic and cultural diversity, in Malaysia’s capital city. Having launched successfully last year, GWKL returns this December bringing together galleries, institutions, projects and more across Greater KL. Coinciding with Malaysia’s 60th year of Independence, GWKL 2017 promotes Malaysia’s dynamic cultural scene, creating connections across the globe. GWKL offers a quality inter-disciplinary program.

The Writer’s Portrait Series – A Revisit Showcase will start on 29 November and opens with Art Talk by Yee I-Lan from 5 – 7 PM and will goes on until 10 December 2017. HOM Art Trans are open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 AM – 6 PM.
